Hey all, Think I need a clutch. Heres the symptoms. After initial start up she catches good out of the hole but about the time you hit 3rd or 4th gear she starts to over rev a little at shift change. Like it takes her a another second for the clutch to engage. Then after 20 ,30 mins anything over second gear slips like mad. If you dont get aggressive with her she will still cruise through the trails. Put the throttle to her and rpms go up but theres little to no increase in speed. Theres no more adjustment on the cable. So think its the clutch, I do. And what does the good people here say about the labor to do such a job and whats the thoughts on Barnett clutchs or is there any other or better out there.
Dave

Are you looking to replace just the friction and drive plates or do you want to replace the whole assembly?

Im going to be replacing my clutch assembly this year (when I can walk a bit better). I got a sweet deal on a complete NOS clutch assembly...$190!!!!

If you are going to replace the plates here is a nice kit:

I beat the snot out of the Barnett clutch frictions in my 350X back in the day (tons of 3rd gear full throttle launches at the sand dunes) and they never gave up.

Yo TT.

Are you saying you would have your X in third gear and rev the snot out of it and take off? You crazy duners!! LOL!!
