Is this the place to say "Hello"? If so, then hello from Uglyfast, which is actually the name of my '85 Tri-Z250. I just bought an '86 350X so, here I am to find out what's up. DLed the manual already, very helpful and thanks for that.
I grew up in a machine shop and have been wrenching on things since I was a kid, so anything I can help with, just ask. I've worked on everything from an .049 to a 50 liter Cummins.
Great site! Good to see other believers in the "Power of Three"!

It seems pretty solid. All the plastics are there, with just one crack to deal with(at the cross brace, probably common). Runs strong and starts with one or two kicks now that I dialed in the carb. The old frame was bent, the friend I got it from just swapped it out for an ebay special. I just finished checking all the bolts, I don't think he tightened any of them.
It smokes some, but runs good, so I think it's just dried out/worn valve seals. The smoke doesn't start 'til it's been running about 30 secs. and the oil gets up top. First real test this sunday! Taking the hand and helmet cams, so look for some vids mon. or tues.
Where's the best place to post them?
Two wheels=too few(sinks in the mud)
    Four wheels=too many(too easy,just drive it)
Three wheels=just right(and it frightens the ignorant)
    Tri-Z250 and ATC 350X
